2014 Bulgheroni Lithology Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2014 Lithology is comprised of Cabernet Sauvignon Clones 4 and 337 from the Rutherford, Oakville, and Saint Helena AVAs and Pritchard Hill and was made by Philippe Melka. The grapes were harvested on October 7th and October 14th and fermented for 25 days in oak and concrete tanks and oak barrels using wild yeast. Lithology Napa Valley was barrel aged 22 months in 60% new French oak and bottled on July 19, 2016. Lithology Napa Valley 2014 represents the heralded Napa Valley growing region. The Saint Helena and Rutherford components bring mid-palate opulence, the signature Oakville and Pritchard Hill tannins combine to add precise structure that gives this wine great length. The result is a dense, palate pleasing wine with smooth tannin that exudes black currants, espresso, and cocoa. 400 cases were produced.
